Grateful for Professors and Judges

Ronald W. Parker

Grateful for all UBalt has done for him, Ronald W. Parker, BS ‘69, JD ‘73, made a gift to support our future.

The University of Baltimore was convenient and affordable for Ronald Parker. The budding entrepreneur owned several businesses while he worked toward his degrees. “I sold snowballs and Christmas trees in between classes and studying,” Parker says. Even though he worked a lot, he was able to earn two degrees—his professors were very flexible. Professor Royal Shannonhouse was an inspiration to him as well as the judges who taught in the evening program.

Parker was part of the inaugural class that attended the day school program. However, he learned so much from the judges that taught in the evening; he would return to sit in on a judge’s class even though he had taken it earlier in the day.

“I am very grateful for all UBalt has done for me,” Parker says. “Without UBalt, I don’t know what I would be doing.” Because of his education at UBalt, he is proud to say that he passed the bar exam the first time he sat for it. Parker now has nine lawyers working for him and five of them are UBalt alumni.

Parker is a managing member of Parker, Pallett, Slezak & Russell, LLC (PPS&R) in White Marsh, Maryland. He is a member of The University of Baltimore’s Law School Advisory Council, Mount Royal Society and the Turner Society.
